About Frenchside
We Build Bridges between English and French – and Between Businesses
At Frenchside, we translate words. But what we really do is carry meaning across languages, cultures, and markets — cleanly enough that no one on the other side notices the crossing.
Our job is to erase every trace of translation. When your French-speaking audience reads your content, they should feel as though it was written for them, in their language, from the very first word. That is the standard we hold every project to, and it is the reason over 1,200 clients across Canada have trusted us with their French translation services since 2014.

Our Story
Frenchside was founded by Benjamin Beaudor, a translator specializing in English-to-French translation with a background in linguistics, anthropology, and communication sciences in Canada.
Benjamin’s expertise was never in doubt — but what he kept observing around him was a gap in the market. English-speaking businesses wanting to enter Quebec and reach French-speaking Canadian audiences were underserved. Either they worked with large, impersonal agencies where their project was just another file in the queue, or they relied on informal bilingual staff whose linguistic skills, however genuine, lacked the specialized expertise that professional, certified translation demands.
The idea behind Frenchside was simple: bring together a community of talented, specialized, and accredited translators — people who are as passionate about language as they are rigorous about quality — and offer businesses something the market wasn’t providing: French translations with real added value. Translations that don’t just convert words from one column to another, but that carry the DNA of your brand into a new language and a new market.
From that founding vision, a team was built.
Our Team
Frenchside is not a one-person operation or a freelance network. It is a community of complementary talents — certified translators, specialized linguists, and dynamic project managers — united by a shared obsession with the quality of the French language and its many forms.
Our translators include:
- Accredited members of the OTTIAQ (Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec)
- Canadian certified translators recognized in France
- Native Quebecers with deep roots in Canadian French
- French nationals who have made Quebec their home
This mix is not accidental. It reflects what French actually is — not a single monolithic language, but a living family of variants, each with its own rhythm, vocabulary, cultural references, and regulatory context.
We translate into Canadian French, Quebec French (Québécois), European French (France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland), and North African French — always matching the target dialect to your audience, never treating all French speakers as interchangeable.
What makes our team work is not just expertise — it is the energy. The people at Frenchside are genuinely passionate about words, about the craft of adapting a message so that it lands exactly as intended, and about the kind of professional pride that comes from a finished translation where nothing feels foreign.
Our Philosophy
Language is not a technical conversion problem. It is a human one.
When a business wants to reach a French-speaking audience, the challenge is not just finding the right word for each English term. It is understanding what the original message was trying to do — the emotion it was meant to create, the action it was meant to trigger, the trust it was meant to build — and recreating that effect in a different language for a different audience.
That is what we mean when we say we translate the DNA of your brand. A slogan, a product description, a legal clause, a job offer — each of these communicates something beyond its literal content. Our role is to make sure that something survives the translation intact.
This philosophy applies equally to a 500-word brochure and a 50-page technical manual. Every project receives the same attention to terminology, tone, cultural nuance, and regulatory accuracy.
We also believe that great translation is invisible. If your French-speaking clients, employees, or partners ever read a Frenchside translation and think “this reads like a translation” — we have not done our job. The highest compliment we receive is when no one notices the work at all.
Our Scope
We translate from English into French and from French into English across all document types and industries — legal, technical, medical, HR, marketing, financial, and more.
Our services cover every form of French used in professional and commercial contexts:
- Canadian French — for businesses targeting the national bilingual market
- Quebec French — for companies operating in Quebec under Bill 96 and Bill 101
- European French — for Canadian businesses with European clients or operations
- North African French — for organizations communicating with Maghrebi francophone audiences
Whether you need a single contract translated overnight or a full-scale multilingual communications program, our team is structured to respond quickly, accurately, and with the expertise your industry requires.
All Frenchside translations are handled by certified professional translators accredited by Canada’s leading provincial translation associations. We work with members of OTTIAQ, ATIO, STIBC, ATIA, ATIM, ATIS, CTINB, and ATINS — ensuring that every translation meets the professional standards required for legal, official, and regulatory purposes across Canada and internationally.
When certification is required — for immigration documents, court submissions, academic transcripts, or official government filings — we issue certified translations that are recognized by Canadian authorities, the IRCC, universities, and institutions in the United States, France, and the United Kingdom.
Why Frenchside?
There are many translation agencies in Canada. Here is what makes Frenchside different:
- We specialize in French and English. Unlike multilingual agencies that handle 50 languages, Frenchside is entirely focused on French and English. That specialization gives us a depth of expertise — in Canadian French variants, in Quebec regulatory requirements, in the cultural nuances of French-speaking markets — that generalist agencies cannot match.

- We know the regulatory landscape. Bill 96, Bill 101, IRCC requirements, Health Canada standards, ISO 17100 — our team understands the legal and regulatory context that your translated documents need to meet, and we build that knowledge into every project.
- We are fast without cutting corners. Our free quote is delivered within 30 minutes. Our turnaround times are among the fastest in the industry. And we never sacrifice quality to meet a deadline — we staff projects accordingly.
- We are a team, not a solo act. Every Frenchside project is handled by a specialized translator and reviewed by a project manager. You have a single point of contact, full visibility on your project, and a team behind the scenes that takes your deadline as seriously as you do.
- We follow rigorous quality standards. Our translation workflow is structured around the key principles of ISO 17100 — including translator qualification requirements, mandatory revision by a second linguist, and documented quality assurance at every stage. Frenchside is also a member of the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) and the Canadian Language Industry Association (CLIA). These affiliations reflect our commitment to upholding recognized professional standards, ensuring strict confidentiality, meeting regulatory requirements, and maintaining rigorous quality control across all our translation services.
